Although my substack is not just about astrology, some big astrology this week and in the coming six months, so lots to talk about at the moment.
So, here are a few more words on Pluto in Aquarius and this is mostly to clarify some things I am seeing online, on Instagram and TikTok posts, that I think need elaborating.
Pluto In Aquarius is not the indicator that we are moving into “the New Age” or the New Timeline. Pluto traverses Aquarius for about 20 years every 248 years. Pluto in Aquarius brings with it big tech innovations and people movements, which can create great societal change, but in itself Pluto does not govern big age changing shifts. Transits of the way out there dwarf planets ( the ones with thousands of years long cycles), the Precession of the Equinoxes and Galactic Cycles do that. I do believe we are approaching a timeline shift, but Pluto in Aquarius is not, by itself, an indicator of said shift.
Pluto in Aquarius is not in itself a sign of big happy humanity shifts either. Pluto is an intense planetary energy that rules death and rebirth cycles, with the emphasis on death (often the rebirth happens after the transit has passed) Pluto also rules power, in all its forms, often negative forms as well. Pluto also rules the big shadow, all that festers below the surface, which it pops like a boil. Pluto going into a sign will bring out the shadow aspects of that sign, and the boil popping of that shadow too. while all of this promotes evolution and is positive from an evolutionary perspective, it comes with intensity and challenges.
Example: when Pluto was in Aquarius last (1778-1798) we had the French revolution (1789-1799). Pluto had began exposing the dark side of the French elite of the time while Pluto was in Capricorn (the very self indulgent clergy, nobility and monarchy of the time) and the people were hungry and fed up. At the same time the ideological movements of The Enlightenment era, with a focus on Freedom, Equality and Fraternity had been developing within the bourgeoisie (the upper middle class), after the discovery of Uranus, in 1981, and during Uranus’ transit in Gemini (1774-1781), which then became the philosophical foundation of said revolution.
However, this revolution was not just sunshine and rainbows. There were political and religious persecutions and a ton of people were executed with the guillotine, Many were nobility and clergy, but there were also a lot of fellow revolutionaries that went on the chopping block. 16,000 people were guillotined during the 1793-1794 Reign of Terror stage of the revolution (right in the middle of Pluto in Aquarius), which was super violent. There were also a lot of power struggles within the revolutionaries. Pluto is going to Pluto, no matter what sign its in. The sign determines the focus on the Plutonian energy for a couple decades, but Pluto is going to be Plutonian in each of those signs.
So for us here in present time, there will be people power, but there will also be the shadow side of people power. And this will be everywhere, not just in the USA. Its time for people movements to take center stage, worldwide. And the people power can take a wide range of expressions, from nationalist populist movements to extreme left movements. No matter what the movement, shadow side will also rise and be present. It will be very interesting to see what new ideas and ideologies will also rise, once Uranus moves into Gemini next year.
Down sides aside, the transformations brought by the people movements of the 1778 -1798 cycle were profound and our nation states and republics are still operating on the principles that founded them during those cycles, at least in theory. The Pluto in Capricorn time , if anything, has reinforced the desire to return to bigger ideals in governance, free from corporate or elite interests or hidden power players. Interestingly, Uranus is going to be in Gemini next year, like it was during the French and American revolutionary era, so we will see talk about ideas and foundational principles return to the table as well, as the innovations in tech, starting next year,
Also…another observation. Many posts online are saying that Cardinal signs are all hey ok now that Pluto has moved out of Cardinal Capricorn. I hate to disappoint, but this is short sighted astrology. First of all Chiron is still in Cardinal Aries and anybody that has had significant Chiron transits knows these are no picnic. Chiron will continue to be in Aries for a couple more years still. Additionally, Neptune moves into Cardinal Aries next March and will stay in Aries for 14 years. Neptune hard aspects in transit are not a walk in the park either, so yes, dear cardinals, the game is still on (I am a cardinal myself, I understand).
Also, just fyi, its a fallacy that a person of a certain sign will be struggling the whole time a planet like Pluto or Neptune is in that sign. The challenges are only active a degree in and out of aspects to personal planets. And thank goodness for that, or we would all be dead lol Sure there will be changes happening to the transiting house, but the big pressure will only be when the transiting planet is about 1 degree from exact. In fact, it is my experience that after a while the planetary energy activating a house, integrates and becomes a kind of normal backdrop of experience.
Ok that’s all I wanted to say for now
Big hugs and enjoy the new energies :-)
Thanks for pointing out Pluto in Aqua doesn't mean updating the timeline. Would you explain what is the precession of the galactic center?
It feels important to be discerning (lol same, also Pluto in Virgo) and not blindly go with what Pop culture is saying atm.
